Anet wants feedback on the game and negative feedback is important to them because they really need to know what appeals to players as they put GW2 together.
I myself do not like the solo quests. Yeah, I solo farm a bit. I PvP also, I know about one on one. And I have two level 70's in WoW where solo is most of the time. So I can solo, no problem. But the reason I play GW a lot more than WoW is the party synergy, which I love. The solo quests seem to me nothing more than an annoyance and an interruption of genuine GW gameplay.
Needless to say I don't like Polymock either.

A-freakin-men. They're one of the most interesting things in the game precisely because they make you rethink your normal way of doing things.

Well I don't like having to Sync with other players to get something done. Self Reliance is key. Your opinion isn't a valid argument to take them out of the game.

I am stating my opinion and I know it is not and does not have to be the opinion of others. I cannot abide the idiots and I will not name them that insult rather than comment. I accept that people will differ with me and that is their right. The only part of the Tihark Orchard mission I did not like was the mime which requires that I must spell correctly and not mistype.

I don't mind the solo quests being in the game, but I also think that the rewards for completing them should also be available from some sort of 'multiplayer' task as well (like, say, EotN PvE skills are given as part of a dungeon quest reward). That way, people who prefer either style can attain the items/skills/heroes in a way that suits them.
Skills as quest rewards only worked in Prophecies because you could choose to do the quests early for the skills or wait and buy the skills later in the game from a trader. There were options. In EotN there aren't. You are forced to play one way.

That was for master's... it would be great if you lost 100g everytime you spelled something wrong. >>
If you state it's a matter of opinion, then you should know others WILL like it and would hope for more than just festival events for solo play.
What events have solo missions, anyway?

Tirak is easy becuase you can use giards to pretty much do all the work for you.
its 5 vs 2 situation. hardly hard.

Because there is no freaking ritualist spirit thingie ...
lame design countered by lamer build. call it cookie cutter if you want, it is no different from taking couple of sfers to stop normal pve.
---
I agree with OP, solo quests seem to be overly not-gw-at-all.
Few of them are refreshing, but if there are too many and they are majopr part of content ...
---
To people who claim that "if you dont like em, do do em" ... well, thing is, if devs see only positive feedback on something they do more of it.
I dont want amount of solo quests in hypothetical expansion 2 (or gw2) go up from current 1/3rd. i doubt op would want them to be major part of future content either.
its not dificulty, it just anoying

I would have to agree that I do not enjoy the solo quests. Party quests are much more fun.
Now, I don't mind if GW has a few solo quests here and there, but I do mind when the only way to unlock a skill or hero is leave everyone behind and solo.
Perhaps such quests could be set with a sliding reward scale: more gold, XP, rep, and items for solo (scaling down per extra party member), but still playable with full party to unlock a skill or hero. That way, the solo people still get the high end reward for solo play, but its not game limited to those who prefer party-play.

now, unbalanced rewards ...
for example:
either get 1k norn points + 2k gold for managing to kill griffon solo OR get 100 norm points and 100 gold for taking along whole party.
Much better reward for people skilled enough to solo it, but wont block less able from unreplicable stuff /skill/
stuff like this would be actually neat. solo for more reward or just play like you are used and win.
I am sure that, i.e. bison could be rebalanced similary to scale /2 players enter: they face two npcs at same time.../ i ma sure that people might reconsider facing 8 bison-grade oponents at same time.

8 bisons at once would be stupidly easy if you had a full party. Weee Aegis + Ward against Melee + Massive Hex spam, done. Heck, that's pretty much hard mode with any melee mob.

not everyone plays that way ...
besides, bison grade oponent does not need to be meele bear. give em two LoDs, soem hex removal ...
/imho, it would actually be good thing if that made general population see power of wards and blockway./

simple question.
it is optional so why are you doing something optional you hate?
honestly curious not meant as criticsm i simply dont touch it myself so it is there for those who like it and for me it does not exist

I agree with the OP, hate solo stuff (esp the challenge mission in nf since I need it for the cartography title )......
I am a TEAM player (RL example sorry for those of you who dont work ---)...and as such enjoy using a team to do things ingame as well......(yes I have beaten both the griffon and magni with my rit.....using some of the build mentioned--not all since I hadnt gotten some of the skils yet nor the skill points to get them).
But we seem to be in the minority oh well. (not that I really care since I wont be getting gw2 so eye is the last thing I will be playing and many of my characters arent even going to visit since they dont want the armor and see no need to spend 3 hours doing a dungeon for a diamond.....)

i liked the solo quests on my sin and my ranger, cool having to think of somthing crative (and a bit of luck) to get throgh.
But on my para, it was murder, the glacial griffon basicly requred 10 minites of hit and run with poison hoping he deosnt place run up and place a spirit, not very fun >.<. Not even going to try the bison tornement with him .

My derv had by far the easiest time with the Norn Tournament (beat it once for the skills and 5 more times for Bison Tokens). [skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill] and [skill]Rending Touch[/skill] > it.
